Popularity grew in the 1960s when immigrants from Central America and Asia brought their love of avocados with them to the US. The rise in popularity of avocados grew during the 1980s, with an average of only one pound per household being consumed in America, but by 1989, people were often hearing fat is not good to a person’s health, because the nutritional value and benefits and was not fully understood and for this reason avocados were loosing the attention of their customers
