You think there is a difference with avocados that are born from different locations? Well.. there are over 1000 varieties, and in California, the hass avocado is the most typically grown most predominantly in the San diego area because of it’s accomodating weather.

In the 1950s The California Avocado Association was formed, among its initiatives are marketing the avocado produce, public relations, compiling and disseminating industry news and information, research on growing and production, and policing groves from people who steal from the avocado groves. Popularity grew in the 1960s when immigrants from Central America and Asia brought their love of avocados with them to the US. The rise in popularity of avocados grew during the 1980s, with an average of only one pound per household being consumed in America, but by 1989, people were often hearing fat is not good to a person’s health, because the nutritional value and benefits  and was not fully understood and for this reason avocados were loosing the attention of their customers
